To solve the challenges of sustainable design, one of the first tasks is to know the territory around us. In this route with the founder of El Sueño Botanical Garden and resident of the area, we will contemplate the nature that surrounds us and we will get to know the territory in more depth. All this, looking for the inspiration that will help us in the following Bio Lab workshops. The manufacture of adobe, made from mud, straw and water obtained from the territory, is a construction technique practiced in the Iberian Peninsula since ancient times. From the exploration of these materials and the recognition of the environment, we will create a series of pieces that will serve as seating elements during the weekend, and as an offering to the earth once we stop using them.
5:00 - 8:30 pm · Workshop "Biomimicry and Life-Centered Design", with Pedro Sáez Martínez (Monnou) and Moha Darawshed (Imita Natura).
In recent decades, there has been a growing awareness of the need to design (our products, services, businesses and even societies) in a more sustainable way. However, we continue to employ the same design methods that focus on human needs and neglect knowledge of Nature. In this workshop, we will explore new concepts and design methods that will allow us to learn from Nature and empathize with other living beings to design a more sustainable territory.
